Welcome to Laurel Cottage. By making a reservation or staying at our property, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully, as they define the rules of your stay and our responsibilities as accommodation providers.

1. Introduction

By making a reservation at Laurel Cottage, you enter into a direct accommodation contract with us. These Terms & Conditions outline the rules of your stay, booking obligations, payment terms, cancellation rights and guest responsibilities. Please read them carefully, as they apply to all reservations made through our website.

Laurel Cottage is a privately owned countryside retreat offering short-term accommodation along the Wicklow Way. Our goal is to provide a comfortable, peaceful and enjoyable experience for all guests.

We collect only the information necessary to provide our services, including:

3. Booking Terms

Reservations made through our website are confirmed instantly. Full payment is processed securely at the time of booking through Stripe. We do not store or handle credit card information directly.

3.2 Minimum Stay

A minimum stay of 2 nights applies to all bookings.

3.3 Maximum Occupancy

The cottage accommodates up to 4 guests (including children). A travel cot and fold-out bed may be available upon request.

3.4 Accuracy of Information

Guests must provide accurate personal details during the booking process. Reservations may be cancelled if fraudulent or incorrect information is detected.

4. Check-In & Check-Out

  • Check-in: from 3:00 PM
  • Check-out: before 11:00 AM

Early check-in or late check-out may be available upon request and subject to availability.

5. House Rules

5.1 Smoking

Smoking is allowed in designated areas. Guests must ensure no damage or odour is left inside the property.

5.2 Pets

Pets are allowed, but subject to approval before arrival. Additional cleaning fees may apply if the property is left excessively dirty.

5.3 Parties & Events

Parties and gatherings are allowed, provided guests behave responsibly and respect the property and neighbours.

5.4 Children

Children are welcome and must be supervised at all times.

6. Damages & Liability

6.1 Guest Responsibility

Guests are responsible for any:

  • damage to furniture or property
  • excessive cleaning required
  • missing items
  • disturbances caused during the stay

Charges may apply if damage occurs.

6.2 Personal Belongings

Laurel Cottage is not responsible for:

  • lost belongings
  • stolen items
  • forgotten items

Guests are encouraged to ensure all personal items are collected at check-out.

6.3 Safety

Guests must follow basic safety rules, including using appliances responsibly and locking doors/windows when leaving the property.

7. Cancellation Policy

7.1 Standard Cancellation Window

  • Full refund: cancellations made 7 days or more before arrival
  • Non-refundable: cancellations made within 7 days of arrival
  • No-show: 100% of the booking cost is charged

This provides fair protection for both guests and property availability.

7.2 Force Majeure

We are not liable for cancellations or interruptions caused by events beyond our control, including but not limited to:

  • severe weather
  • government restrictions
  • illness
  • emergencies
  • unexpected property issues

In such cases, we may offer a change of dates or refund at our discretion.

8. Refund Policy

8.1 Refund Eligibility

Refunds are issued only when:

  • a cancellation is made at least 7 days before arrival, or
  • the property becomes unavailable due to circumstances on our side

8.2 Non-Refundable Situations

No refund will be issued when:

  • cancellation occurs within 7 days of arrival
  • the guest fails to arrive (“no-show”)
  • the guest leaves early for personal reasons
  • the reservation violates house rules or booking terms

8.3 Refund Method

Refunds are processed back to the original payment method via Stripe. Processing times may vary depending on the bank.

9. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Ireland. Any disputes shall be resolved under Irish jurisdiction.
